About this service

What we actually do

Nine times out of ten a vacuum that has stopped picking up is not broken, it is blocked. A full bag, a clogged HEPA filter or something lodged in the hose starves the motor of air, and a starved motor runs hot until it burns out. We clear the airway, test the actual suction at the head, and replace the motor only when the readings say it has genuinely gone.

Faults we see most

  • Little or no suction at the floor head
  • Motor screaming or running much louder than usual
  • Burning smell while the cleaner is running
  • Cutting out after a few minutes and restarting once cooled
  • Brush roller not spinning
  • Cord not retracting or not staying out

Parts we repair and replace

  • Suction motors and carbon brushes
  • HEPA and motor protection filters
  • Hoses, wands and floor head assemblies
  • Brush rollers and drive belts
  • Cord rewind mechanisms
  • Speed controls and on/off switches
